Plane Crash in Iran

An Iranian passenger plane with 66 people on board crashed in Iran on Sunday during a flight from Tehran to Yasuj in the southwest of the country. The Aseman Airlines plane crashed in the Zagros mountains of central Iran. The Red Crescent deployed a search and rescue team to the site near the city of Semirom in Isfahan province. Semirom's governor explained that rescue helicopters were unable to land in the crash site because of heavy fog and emergency workers were trying to reach the area by land.

Failed Terrorist Smuggling

The Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF) acted on intelligence and follow-up by the Military Intelligence Department and concerned authorities to dismantle a network smuggling weapons, drugs and terrorists through Saturday. The source said that the plan was prepared and implemented by a group of terrorists and drug traffickers using the old oil Trans-Arabian Pipeline, which links Jordanian and Syrian borders, as well as Jordanian and Iraqi borders.

Netanyahu won't Resign

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed police recommendations that he be charged with bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, calling allegations against him "biased, extreme [and] full of holes like Swiss cheese". The right-wing leader has been subject to two separate parallel police investigations, dubbed cases "1,000" and "2,000", in which, if he is found guilty, he could almost certainly be sent to prison. 19th US School Shooting

A former student unleashed a hail of gunfire in an American high school on Wednesday, killing at least 17 adults and children. The school is closed for the rest of the week, Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie said. The district will offer grief counseling to students and their families. The suspect, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, was expelled for unspecified disciplinary reasons in the past, and is now in police custody.. He is due in court Thursday.

Eagles Win Super Bowl

For the first time, the Eagles are Super Bowl champions, knocking off the New England Patriots 41-33 at US Bank Stadium. It was an improbable run for the Eagles - especially for their quarterback, Nick Foles. He was named Super Bowl MVP after completing 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns. "To be on the podium with my wife Tori and my daughter Lily, I mean that's what it's about," Foles said.

Gas Prices on the Rise

The government’s fuel pricing committee on Saturday decided to raise the prices of unleaded 90-octane gasoline and diesel by JD0.015 per litre and unleaded 95-octane gasoline by JD0.025 as of February 5th.The committee also decided to maintain the price of kerosene at JD0.520 per litre and the price of gas cylinders at JD7. The price of one litre of unleaded 90-octane gasoline will go up during February to JD0.765, up by 2 per cent from January’s price that stood at JD0.750 per litre.

First Jordanian Woman in WWE

Shadia Bseiso has made waves across the world. Not only is she a professional martial arts athlete who fought her way to the top, she's also the first Arab woman to sign with the American entertainment company World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). The 31-year-old Jordanian has just started an intense training program at WWE's Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. With the help of specialized wrestling and cardio trainers, along with camera and acting instructors, Bseiso hopes she will soon be prepared to crush her rivals inside the ring.
